The Premonition is the 5th album released by Firewind. It was released in 2008 and is one of their best albums acording to reviews. Alongside the Mercenary Man single, it is the first Firewind release to feature the new stylised logo.

On 8th March 2010 The Premonition was released on vinyl with the addition of the previously Japanese-exclusive track Ride to the Rainbow’s End.
